When I look back on all of the unit 1 projects and my first hour of photography I had a optimistic through on it and was excited. And I can say know that I was right from the start I have enjoyed doing unit 1 and I think I have come far and learnt a lot through the process. On a over look on the unit one projects I feel like my evaluation on the images I took has got better because I did really struggle and using the help sheets that my teach gave me and the rest of the class really helped me know what to write. I also think my experiments in the projects that I completed has really come along and I have found my style in taking photos and showing my creative side of myself.
Cyanotypes -Because cyanotypes was my first project it was quite short and I was just finding out my style and I was struggling with evaluating so that is why there is not a lot of evaluating because there was also not a lot of experiments to go on. However on what I do have I think it was all right as it was my first photography experiment , yet it was not as good as I thought it would turn out. I did not really like the project because it was simply not my thing and I did not like it and It was my first time picking up a camera for a project really so not has good.
Photograms/ Rayorgrams- These were my second project which was a little better , but then again there is not a lot of experiments or evaluation on them experiments but there was some research which was a lot better then the research on the first project cynotypes. The images that I made was my favourite because it just looked really nice with all the objects I had chosen but I remember for me it was a rush to find as many objects to put on the paper in the dark room so I did not really think things through.
Light Painting- This 3rd experiment is the first were I did more experiments and evaluating not a lot however more then ever. I also done more research which I am pretty proud of because at that moment I hated research and evaluating because I found it difficult. But I did find it enjoyable and I feel like I improved in taking images and being involved it them as well. We used little light torches that were different colours and all the lights were out but the torches and we had to run the lights around people or draw images and then the camera would flash to see the effect. There were both great turn outs but also bad turn outs but they did not look like I would take that image again feeling.
Mobile Photography - 4th Project has again improved more and my knowledge of photography. I have done even more experiments then the first three projects , it was where i started getting more comfortable and enjoyed the most out of the first 4 projects. With mobile photography we had to use an Ipod or mobile and not a photography camera to take photos.
Street Photography - This is the 5th project and I think it was the project that actually changed me and made me even better and I had done a lot of work for it , there is not many photography research however I did more experiments then I have ever at the time. What we had to do is go around school and take a lot of images with students or teachers in them walking and chatting with mates.
Tate-street photography : This is linked the the street photography 5th project because it was when we went to London tate photography museum. I really enjoyed spending time with my mates that are also doing photography and getting lots of images for the project and , they were so different to the starting of street photography project. I used a professional like photography camera which made the quality of the image really good. It put my confidence to the test but also my camera skills , overall I think it went really well.
Abstraction : This was my 6th experiment and I really enjoyed it I really improved more and I had an ok balance between images getting taken and evaluation. I researched more which was good for me and I think it was a personal achievement for my self. I think one reason why I enjoyed it is because I did more at home and it allowed my creativity show more like the experiment with the patten lines behind a wine class and the J2O bottles with waster and sugar. In that experiment I used a family camera which I think gave a all right quality that I personally liked. When I finished this project 'ABSTRACTION' I believe that I was more excited to do the next project.
Contrast - This is the 7th project which I was really excited. Honestly , I paid more time in taking images then evaluating but I felt like I wanted to take these images and show more of my image skills. This was the project when I started using a app called pic monkey and it just brought that extra something that I think the images need. So overall I do believe that the images look perfect well to me they do. I was in the first experiment a lot I really enjoyed doing this. The camera I used was what I started using more is the professional like camera so it did bring that better quality.
Openings- This is the 8th project that we did before the last unit one exam, this was when I started really well however I did not know what really happened but it did not have a lot of evaluating and the images were not as many as they were. I did not enjoy the project then I did for abstraction but I did not hate it. I tried to do different things with the images and make them look really good , however, it was not the best images I feel I have taken. I did not do a lot of photographer research then other projects.
Absurd- wast the final project of unit one. This was my favourite, yet , it did not have a lot of evaluating unlike others, however it did have the longest final evaluation then ever before on the other projects. Absurd was my favourite because it was different and at first I did not think I would like it but then over time I fell in love with it because it was unlike any other project in unit one. When I had to use signs in the project I was happy because I could give each image something extra and a little explanation. One most of the signs I wanted to have a meaning to it and that is why in most of the images the sign has a quote. I used a digital camera at first but then moved onto my phone then for the last couple of experiments and improvements of other experiments made before I used a professional like camera.
Overall I think I have come far during the course of the different and multiple projects that I have completed. One why I have improved is my evaluating it has improved by me putting my honest opinions of the images and the questions I would ask to people looking at these images. I am very delighted to the skills I have and have learned over the time of completing unit one. And I am really excited to start unit 2.
