“Everybody Street illuminates the lives and work of New York’s iconic street photographers and the incomparable city that has inspired them for decades. The documentary pays tribute to the spirit of street photography through a cinematic exploration of New York City, and captures the visceral rush, singular perseverance and at times immediate danger customary to these artists. Covering nine decades of street photography, “Everybody Street” explores the careers and influences of many notable photographers––a number of whom have never been documented , featuring: Bruce Davidson, Elliott Erwitt, Jill Freedman, Bruce Gilden, Joel Meyerowitz, Rebecca Lepkoff, Mary Ellen Mark, Jeff Mermelstein, Clayton Patterson, Ricky Powell, Jamel Shabazz, Martha Cooper, and Boogie, with historians Max Kozloff and Luc Sante."

The image on the left is one of my best images. The subject in the image is the two shadows because its noticeable . the image is in colour but the shadows are black but it does not really make a difference as it still shows what is going on but in black and white and colour. The image is calm as there is no one around excepted the two peoples shadows and still as the shadows look like they are standing still. The photographer is standing because you see lots of things in the image. The angle the photographer used was straight/ tilled to the left a bit. There is lots of information as it as things in the background. The image I would call this would be 'shadows' because that is the subject. The light is hitting on the people that I making the shadows longer then the height of the people. it has a deep depth of filed as you can see lots of the background.

In the image I have taken (from my chosen artist) the subject is of two girls and the drawing. This image on the left is in black and white but if it was in colour it wouldn't make a difference as it will still take the same capture. The composition in the picture is a still and calm image as it is just the two girls and they are drawing. The photographer is crouching as when it was taken you can see that the two girls are crouching and the image is facing right at the girls. There is not a lot of information but you can still see an story of what is happening. Do the girls know that it is being taken? yes, as it looks like they are portending and they are looking down but also no, because it looks like the girls are realistic. The drawing in the picture looks as a really white and bold but if it got drawn with chalk then it will look more real. If I had to name this image for the photographer I would call it 'The Drawing Girls' because the two girls are drawing a picture. If I had to ask the photographer two questions they would be , What made you want to take this image? and What did you feel when you were taking the image.

Cropping |
Why do street photographers use cropping ? Street photographers use cropping to show one particular part of an image. It is really effective and popular for street photographers to use cropping because it can catch someone's eye to think of what the were trying to capture. Cropping gives other photographers ideas to what they can take. When taken the photographers do not crop the image after they have taken it but the take it in the moment.

Shadows |
Why do street photographers use shadows?
Street photographers use shadows because it usually gives the image a good tone. Sometimes it shows two point of views. It can sometimes show the persons characteristics, such as if the photograph shows a person on a bike it might be there hobby. If the shadows are out side and the sun is reflect on the persons body it can show what time it is because if it was like 9:00am (bright) so it shows a darker shadow so photographers like different type of shadows so they know what time they like the shadows. |
Our group got to choose a theme to take images with, our group chose 'Walk On By' we decided to use that theme because it inspired us. I took the image of ben because the way was walking and how he held the camera was really effective. The subject is ben but he is not really in focus then the background. This image is in colour than black and white but it would not make a difference. The image is calm but the way he is walking show like he is walking fast. You can see that I was standing as you can see the top half and half of the building but if I was crouching you would see the sky. It shows that I am looking strait as the image is strait and not angled. There is a reason amount of information that I have captured. The camera I used to take the images was and Camera not an iPod I think I can capture more and use it better than an iPod.

We started the lesson by watching the movie of 'Street Photographers' and how they take there images and how they felt before they take the image. When we got IPods we went out and took 12 photos of thing that we do not take all the time. The images below are the one I took over the school they are not the usual type that I take in other lessons. We took photos INDEPENDENTLY and HONESTLY . It was really hard to go into a 6 formers class and take there images as i don't know how the could react if they did not want to be in a image.
I chose to take this image because it was effective the way there is a women on the phone and then there is a reflection of some one else. The subject of the image is the women on the phone. My image is in colour it looks more effective then if it was in black and white because you would see the reflection more and it looks more realistic as what we see is also what we capture.the image is calm but moving as there is someone is moving their hands to get something you can see this because this persons hands are blurred. When i had taken the image i was standing this is shown as you can see all the heads then all the body such as :legs and feet. There is a lot of information that has been captured.

Homework from 'Street photography '
For the homework we had to take 10 images as a 'street photographer '. I decided to visit Greenwich Park as it is a busy location with lots of people, families, walking dogs and joggers etc. I have chosen this image on the right as I love the composition. The composition is quite simple and it shows a 'triangle', which is a common theme in photography where within the composition, elements are arranged in a triangular shape, here, the person, dog and ball all form a triangle. The photograph is divided into three sections each section has a different color and texture which I like.Within the image there is only the woman and her dog so it looks as though it is a quiet, deserted place although at times it can be really busy. It looks like there is a lot of space around the park for them and this shows within the composition which makes the image look spacious, empty and it looks very simple so our eyes are drawn to the three main elements which are the woman, dog and ball.

Triangles
Triangles. In images you don't always see triangle or diagonals as you do not really expect to see triangles in images. In this example from Eric Kim's website (http://erickimphotography/blog/2013) it shows a boys head and a boy kicking a red and white ball it looks like the boy who is not kicking the ball is Put there as you can not stand side ways. But in most images with triangles they are but in the places then just taking the image and there is a triangle with out you knowing.

Lines
Lines are in every day life. In the image on the left it shows obvious lines for an example the lines of the chair that the middle relaxed man is sitting on and his two legs . The image is by the same man who make lots of objects and people into triangles but with lines ( Eric Kim) . but it is different as every thing has got lines but not every image has triangles.

Rule Of Thirds
The rule of thirds is what some photographers use this to make objects in a line. The rule of thirds is a grid cut into thirds both horizontally and vertically. It helps you as it makes your photographs better. The most often referenced rule of composition, it is about subject of placement within the frame. The rule of thirds does not just make great composition it makes it neat for an example my image the 15th is a good example as it was already in line.
What I have learnt:
I have learnt in this lesson that using the rule of thirds it makes your image interesting and that you can see your subject personalty and what they look like more. I also learnt that trees and objects are normally in centre in the middle, left and right . I also learnt to make more images using the rule of third because if you look more in depth there are loads of images that you can make with the rule of thirds. It also shows that I can get to see more composition in may images.

This is my favourite image as it is in a perfect formation and this image is the best to show what the rule thirds. The three elements in this image are the composition as they are place in line next to each other and it is still so it is calm . this image as not just got composition it as has shadows and cropping to. The subject is the three elements . The image is in colour but I think it would look better in black and white or an other colour to make it look interesting. When I took this image I was half crouching in other words my knees were bent . The image was taken on a bit of an angle when I took this. There was not a lot of image captured as there is not a lot of elements in it so you could not make a story that is shown.
Ansel Adams was an American photographer and environmentalist. His full name is Ansel Easton Adams. All his images are in black and white, these image he took was in American West but mostly in the Yosemite National Park. His images are based widely on calendar's books and extra. His artwork is : Moonrise, Hernandez, New Mexico and more he has Awards: Presidential Medal of Freedom, Hasselblad Award, Sierra Club John Muir award. ......... ..
Some I took at home for 'The Rule Of Third'.

DIAGONALS : They are the strongest of compositional elements.there are 3 main lines the horizontal, vertical, and diagonal line. often the street photographers use diagonals more . It makes drama in lots of images by using strong lines.
|
The image i have taken for todays task is one of my favourites as it has DIAGONALS. what went well with image was that no one would get this image unless you were in partenaires what also went well was the way i saw this i thought that if i do both bars then one it would look better. I also saw that someones shoe and leg are in a diagonal so it look more effective.Even Better If i had i got more elements in this to make it look more better and that if it was in an different effect of colour.

similarities : The similarities of both images is that the people are in the foreground and sentential. There is no men/boys in the photographs. The both have vehicles in the background. In both it has elements in the background. The people are both on pavements. The both have buildings in the foreground and background. Two figures in the frame .the composition is the same. The foreground and background are the same. And both have young child in it and a mother.
differences: The first image is in colour and the women and the girl are in bright red , but in the second image it is in black and white so you do not know what colours they are wearing. One our wearing hats. The color image is very formal and look like they are going some were that you need to wear smart clothing or they are very posh. but in the black and white image they our slouching and wearing short dresses. One our wearing coats as it must be cold and the other is warm/ hot. The body language is different as one is quite stand up strait and the other is slaching . the black and white must have had a sunny weather as there are shadows in it. They are both in different location . Difference in the tone (colour) and the tone (meaning). The one on the left are look like they are going some wear posh, but on the right the y are hanging out and going to get milk.
